The Physics
Correcting the path of a beam for a living
I’m an accelerator physicist specializing in beam dynamics and trajectory correction. My work happens mostly during commissioning — the delicate stretch where a machine is brought to life and every trajectory has to be measured, understood, and corrected before real experiments can begin. I care about the two very different ways a beam can be nudged back on course, and about building tools that make that correction faster and more transparent for the people running the shift.
The Persian
It started with a story, not a syllabus
I once told my partner the story of Rostam and Sohrab from the Shahnameh — slowly, in Persian, translating as I went. I watched them learn more grammar from following that tragedy than from any drill I could have written. That evening became a method: teach the culture and the story first, and let the language arrive as a natural consequence of wanting to understand what happens next.
